Living in beautiful Los Angeles does not mean we can count on the weather to tell us what season it is, (it was 92 like a week ago.) That said, there’s one clear sign every year I look out for to give me the first real sign of Fall– PUMPKIN FLAVORED ANYTHING.
And here was my first sighting!! PUMPKIN FLAVORED CHOCOLATE!!??? There it was, at Whole Foods, swirled in brown with its fragrant orange pumpkiness. I’ve never tried anything like that before!! Ok, so if any of you readers are pumkin fans, you must. MUST. PLEASE try my alltime favorite go to for pumpkin flavored pancakes- The Griddle on Sunset. It’s called “Tis The Season”, and I get them with chocolate chips sprinkled in the batter. The smell of the cinnamony spice is TO DIE, there’s pumpkin densely mixed in the batter, and then another dollup of fresh pumpkin puree on top. No serious, I’ve never had such a powerful punch of punkin!!!

Over here in PA, we have Pumpkin Pie Blizzards at Dairy Queen ice creem shops. SOOOO GOOD!!! Yum, yum yum. Let me know if you like Chex mix, I made Pumpkin Pie Chex Mix last week. The recipe was in our local paper….it’s such a hit! And I can send it if you’d like…includes pecans
