Um. Yea. I just found out tomorrow night’s episode of How Do I Look (Style Network 8/7c) is going to be with guest Fun Loving Forest. I say this with a forced smile..cuz she wasn’t feeling “fun”, and I for damn sure wasn’t feelin any love.
This was a really challenging episode for me and I have no idea how it’ll turn out. All I can tell you is that Forest and I disagree on everything, I feared the entire time she’d leave the show, and she’s the first guest ever to make me lose my cool.

Jeannie I must say that you are my new style icon! You are BEYOND fabulous! I watch the show whenever it’s on just to catch a glimpse of you and your outfits! The silver that skirt that you had on during tonights episode was stunning, would you mind telling me who it’s by? And don’t worry about Forest, her bad attitude just made her look bad and you look better!
I’m watching the episode right now, and so far I agree with everything Forest is saying! What would be cool would be to admit she is right, and then to give her ideas for a wider range of looks that still express all her values. Maybe that’s what happens later in the episode? In any case, everything Forest is saying is awesome, and I hate to see you beat up on her.

Lol, I don’t know if I necessarily felt or looked better after coming out of combat with Forest, but I hope she moves forward continuing to discover herself and making her own economical impact with her community through her fashion. You are absolutely right with your concerns of the show. I want to really make clear that with every guest we have on our show, we absolutely ensure they are satisfied with the options they have at the end of our wardrobe session, and have no problem in adjusting the selections so that (as long as we’re not bringing them backwards in their fashion journey,) their needs are met! That being said, it wasn’t so much of Forest’s opinion of the clothing being the problem, but it was that she put down the accomplices’ choices, made negative comments about their ability to shop for her, ended up liking something from every one of their collection, then refused to let them know that they actually succeeded in finding things to satisfy her. I wanted Forest to be fair in sharing the side that she had shown to me, with the accomplices who had really taken the effort to please her.
I pointed this out in my Live Chat yesterday after the show, along with the fact that I agreed with some of Forest’s views to preserve costs before spending extravagantly on fashion. It’s just that when it suspends her from moving forward in life with new job opportunities or healthier relationships with people in her life, that’s when she needed to decide what was more worth the cost.

The green dress is by Elizabeth and James and we got it at Bloomingdale’s. I just checked their website and didn’t see it on there anymore. Not sure honestly if it’s even in the stores anymore since everywhere is turning over into spring collections. The belt is from B.P. department in Nordstrom! Hope that helps!
WOW! Forest was a tuffy! You did a great job working with her and showing her that how she looks not only impacts other people’s impressions of her but it impacts how SHE feels. I knew she got it when she suddenly wanted to break out the sexy! Nice work!

I was super impressed by the way you handled Forest. While watching the episode, the whole time I was thinking, “Wow, she’s really making everyone work so hard to help her!” I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to work with her – I was getting frustrated just watching at home. She kept contradicting herself, and as a viewer you really want to see the guests make positive changes in their lives. I think you handled her attitude really well, and it seemed like by the end she was starting to open up more to change. I hope that since filming she’s made more improvements, and that she might have been able to watch her own episode (somewhat) objectively.
I’m always impressed by the way you deal with guests, with a mixture of honesty and humor (and fabulous style!). Forest required quite a bit more work, and I give you a lot of credit for stepping up to the plate.
