Hi luvs, July is over and so is Mai Beauty Contest for that month! So here is my winner (who will be receiving a fabulous Chocolate Handbag) and the runners up! I hope you <3 their answers as much as I did!
WINNER: Lisa Tu Mai
So in my handbag there is:
My Business cards – I recently graduated from beauty school and am a freelancer for hair and make up I also have a small business online selling feather extensions. Having to see my business cards on a daily basis helps remind me to stay professional at all times.
My camera: To capture all moments in life that inspires me to do what I do and strive for the success that Ive been wanting. Also, it has all the pictures that means the world to me. A lot of people uses a billboard and pin up all the things in life that they want. As for me it is in my camera. There are pictures of my family smiling, my new born niece, me pets, my dream home, the flowers and sunset that inspires me, the homeless and stranded people on the road that needs help, these all inspires me to become the humble person that I am today. Life is all about giving back and my camera is the key to why I do what I do.
My feathers extensions: My feather extensions is what supports me at the moment. I carry it with me because I understand that many females are going crazy for these feathers. I told myself before I started my business that I am doing this to provide for those who cant afford it. I know that there are many salons that are charging up to 30 per strand. As for me, I share my discount with the ladies and provide it to the for 5 a strand. I also use this business to give back to charity. I promise myself that I will help the children in Vietnam. That I will raise 500 dollars to save a child in need. So I gave back 10% of everything I made to the Give a Heart foundation. And as of now I have raised 600 dollars. Theres nothing better than to know that I am giving back to the community and my hometown no matter where I go.
My parents voices: I recall when I was younger my mother always told me to never put my purse on the floor, to treasure every penny on the floor, to not waste a grain of rice. Ive seen my parents give back to the poor and needy in Vietnam and followed them through the rural areas of Vietnam. They stop by huts and islands and hike to donate rice and money to the families. Their words of wisdom is engraved into every penny I spend. I make sure that I do not splurge on unnecessary items. The words of my parents are honestly the most valuable thing in my purse.
BTW, Jeannie thank you for posting the Give A Heart Foundation video on your fb wall. Without that I would have never known about it. And it is because of you that I was able to give back.
