I recently visited Oakley headquarters here in California and was blown away by their efforts to inspire and educate the employees. Like this sick recycling center- w/ actual fun facts about their own products having a section besides trash that can be recycled.

Our local council runs a recycling scheme where they come and collect your recycling once a fortnight. You can recycle cans, glass, newspapers and mags (or other gloss-printed material) and they also collect grass, plant cuttings and branches.
This is fab however they dont currently collect plastic or cardboard and so we are going to clear out some room in the shed where we can keep these things and take them to the recycling centre ourselves.
We are also looking into getting a compost bin
