Stretch your Style– 3 Ways to Wear

// October 20th, 2009 // No Comments » // $tyle $tealz!, Looking Good, Mai Musts

I always teach my friends how to shop strategically. Sure, there’s those signature finds you just must own because you’ll never find em again, but the best way to get most bang outta ur buck is to shop for pieces you can wear in various ways. A surefire way for me to buy is if I can think of 3 ways I can wear that top, skirt, scarf, etc, right there in the store. Not only will you love the diverse closet you’ll have of mix and match staple items, but you’ll also stretch your styling muscles to be more creative in your unique couture. Remember friends: Fashion fades, but style is eternal!

Kim Kardashian kisses n tells..in a glossy way to give back.

This week I sat with Kim to cover the her exciting new involvement with Fusion Beauty’s new lipgloss, a line of lip plumping glosses that obviously work extremely well for the gorgeous girl. My fave part about this lineup is the “Kiss Away Poverty” Campaign, in which $1 from every sale of Infatuation and Lipfusion glosses goes towards Seven Bar Foundation to help end poverty among women!! It was awesome talking with Kim’s passion over makeup with her artist Troy Jensen and sharing her fave beauty secret. So here’s the scoop– try it out! (MAC’s Vanilla Pigment totally gets the job done right, too )  Do get out there  to Sephora and check out the line –Sugar Rush is my personal fave!

A Fashion-Forward Find in the Fashion District

Shiny me. I just have to share this new fave find of mine in the fashion — Beauty in the City. Located in the depths of downtown LA, this store is a freakn gem. I don’t know if I love more the adorable employees and store owner, Mindi, who are so “on it’ like a bonnet about fast service and diligent help, but this woman knows how to buy banging things. Sick boots, awesome use of feathers and pearls, even lace bibs for layering. This belt here is one of my faves, under $20, and do look out for more gems on my show How Do I Look! Thanks Mindi!

Feeling weightless with Ali from The Biggest Loser…and my Switchflops

// October 7th, 2009 // 6 Comments » // $tyle $tealz!, Looking Good, Mai Musts

Sexy in Switchflops Yesterday I met the beautiful, and might I add, sexy skinny Ali- biggest winner of last season’s Biggest Loser on the actual set of the show. No really, the biggest thing on this new svelte star was her huge smile. She looks like a person who is really happy with herself. It’s that self made glow! When I jumped on the show’s infamous scale with her I felt like we were shooting and had both won because her energy was so infectious. Yano why else I was overjoyed in excitement?  Miss Lindsay Phillips and her dreamy footloose Switchflop flats that I’m wearing here. No, really–these things are saving my life right now in between all these lengthy shoots I run back to back in. After standing for hours in haute heels, not only do my feet go scurrying for these comfy kicks, but only Switchflops keep me struttin in my own sassy style with their snappy styles I can switch and change. Lu-Uv! (Doesn’t hurt that I heart the designer, Lindsay herself who is too stinkin cute!)  Anyway,  do tune in to me on How Do I Look on Style Network or Extra TV to see more of my fave fashions. MWA guys!

Mmmmm….Rawlicious Raw Food

// September 10th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Food, Looking Good, Mai Musts, Mai News, Uncategorized

This week I felt like I needed a detox.

Oh sweet jesus yum.

Maybe cuz I went overboard on the vino from Labor Day, maybe because I was feeling lonely driving up and down the bare La Brea streets as the rest of LA decides to leave me for Labor Day, but either way there I was for lunch, craving something hearty and healthy and wholesome-ly cleansing…and the cayenne lemonade thing was not gonna do it. Better yet, I knew exactly where to go because not only would I get the most filling wholesome detox meal ever, but I’d get an OVER fill of love and appreciation to see my great friend Tigre at the same time. So off I went to Chef Rawsheed’s Sun Power Natural Cafe in Studio City, LA.

Mai Musts–Click’n Kicks

// August 11th, 2009 // No Comments » // Looking Good, Mai Musts

There are certain things besides Fergie’s lyrics that are “200-late”: following the FDA’s food pyramid of consuming 6-11 bread servings a day, having thick acrylic nails, and wearing Ugg boots in 90 degree weather- with jeans. (Stop it LA!) But for the last year I’ve been so ahead of mai time with this new discovery that I’ve decided to completely put it on blast after hearing myself raving about em yet again today.

Shoelaces.

Tying em, tripping over em, frustrating kids with the loopholes of learning em (thanks Drew!)… I’m over em altogether!! Know why? Cuz…heh heh, I’ve discovered the absolute SHIZ of sneakers that will leave you clicking your heelz for more.
