Oh man. Was this episode latex overload. I seriously couldn’t even LOOK at my leggings after shooting this episode. Alondrea (the guest on this week’s show) made me question everything containing spandex I owned. Thanks Alondrea, I own like 15 oversized boho baggy blouses and harem pants now. But all is not lost! This was a fanTAsTically fun episode for outfits of course! What did you guys think? Tell me your faves, cuz we sure did lock down some purdy finds!

Mai Closet: Episode 1105 with Illiana

Ahhh, this episode was a doozy. I can still remember standing there just bewildered at how Illiana, our guest on this week’s episode, tried everything to talk herself out of a makeover. If she walked off the show with even just a shirt that fit over her midriff, I would have been thrilled! However, at the end of the day Illiana had an amazing heart and turned when she saw how her ill-fitted clothing actually made her appear 2-3 sizes bigger than she actually was! She later told me off camera that she never realized the effects of her style could later teach her daughter the same low self-esteem, too. I just arrived back from NYC to film this segment-posting here for all who missed. It’s always so much fun teaching women ways to work their wardrobe. My fave part of this was having our special guest Nicole back from this week’s episode of How Do I Look. Not only did she look Un. Be.LiEvAbly hot, but she was just so happy. I always teach my friends how to shop strategically. Sure, there’s those signature finds you just must own because you’ll never find em again, but the best way to get most bang outta ur buck is to shop for pieces you can wear in various ways. A surefire way for me to buy is if I can think of 3 ways I can wear that top, skirt, scarf, etc, right there in the store. Not only will you love the diverse closet you’ll have of mix and match staple items, but you’ll also stretch your styling muscles to be more creative in your unique couture. Remember friends: Fashion fades, but style is eternal!

I just have to share this new fave find of mine in the fashion — Beauty in the City. Located in the depths of downtown LA, this store is a freakn gem. I don’t know if I love more the adorable employees and store owner, Mindi, who are so “on it’ like a bonnet about fast service and diligent help, but this woman knows how to buy banging things. Sick boots, awesome use of feathers and pearls, even lace bibs for layering. This belt here is one of my faves, under $20, and do look out for more gems on my show How Do I Look! Feeling weightless with Ali from The Biggest Loser…and my Switchflops

Yesterday I met the beautiful, and might I add, sexy skinny Ali- biggest winner of last season’s Biggest Loser on the actual set of the show. No really, the biggest thing on this new svelte star was her huge smile. She looks like a person who is really happy with herself. It’s that self made glow! When I jumped on the show’s infamous scale with her I felt like we were shooting and had both won because her energy was so infectious. Yano why else I was overjoyed in excitement?  Miss Lindsay Phillips and her dreamy footloose Switchflop flats that I’m wearing here. No, really–these things are saving my life right now in between all these lengthy shoots I run back to back in. After standing for hours in haute heels, not only do my feet go scurrying for these comfy kicks, but only Switchflops keep me struttin in my own sassy style with their snappy styles I can switch and change.
