Me, Gaga, and Mai Today Show Appearance.

// January 21st, 2010 // $tyle $tealz!, Looking Good, Mai News

I just arrived back from NYC to film this segment-posting here for all who missed. It’s always so much fun teaching women ways to work their wardrobe. My fave part of this was having our special guest Nicole back from this week’s episode of How Do I Look. Not only did she look Un. Be.LiEvAbly hot, but she was just so happy. So different from the woman I first met on our show. (See video to the right on blog homepage) I was elated to see her glow from feeling so gorgeous within. And um…watch her in this clip as she helps me help her get these looks on!

Thank you all for watching! Thank you Camilla and Tim for helping me pull this off together. Thank you Style, the always lovely Lindsay, and Dom for being the absolute host to make sure I had everything I need- esp rest. Thank you Nightlight Jewelry and LAS. Oh, and of course..my Gaga-licious sighting? Ok, there I was on Delta airlines red eye to NY, and in she comes to sit in my row, in a strait up red zip up velour tracksuit with a super million watt bedazzled jacket that could have lit up the city itself. No, this outfit was not cute, but as we all know Gaga makes it work like no other. She had full drag makeup on with lashes longer than mine (and if anyone knows me they know I put RuPaul to shame with my falsies.) Long story short, at the end of our flight I didn’t know if I should have even done this since it’s like 5 AM and nobody feels like talking- but I said, “Lady G, I just have to tell you thanks. Thank you for empowering young people with creativity and a message of love… And girl, I haven’t see velour like that since Hugh Hef and Britney’s bridal shower but wow u make it work.”  She died and gave me a hug with thanks. I love Gaga, man.

K I’m off to bed now for an Extra day tomorrow ! Heart you guys !~

    But i was wondering if you have any advice for me :) Thank you for you time! Thank you, Heather G.

    Heather, thanks for posting this!

    I think it’s great that you’re currently taking classes, however I urge you to set something up for yourself where you can throw yourself into as many situations as possible to PRACTICE and PLAY with makeup. Every single “canvas” is different, and the more you get to experiment with different skin textures, color palettes, ages, the better and more confident you will become. Distribute your own little business card, offer makeups for weddings, proms, girly parties, mother/daughter dates, anything that needs some glam. Have your own kit stocked and constantly updated, and of course attend as many fashionable events where you can mingle with the other talents in our industry of hair, wardrobe, photography, etc. I’d also very much recommend working for companies like MAC, where you receive not only daily practice of clientele, but you are enriched with a great learning curriculum thru your trainers.

    Have fun Heather! You are on a fantastic road ahead of making our putting our best feature forward thru your touch. Thank you!
