Three ‘Jeannie Mai’ Ways to LOOK, FEEL.. and EAT Fantastic

In just 7 days, you can join me to the promise land of all 3 :)

This Saturday, November 6th, I will be hosting an event that brings awareness to an issue I feel strongly about: Human Trafficking. You might have heard me mention this at my last Today Show appearance. This event is called Freedom and Fashion, an annual showcase and trade show featuring companies and organizations doing the front line work to empower and educate this issue.  I love the energy events like this bring because I meet so many incredibly passionate, talented people with hands to heal women and children through their work! Tickets are on sale now here. I hope to see you there and this video explains more about it:

The very next day, Sunday November 7th,  I’m getting up early to strut my stuff at the 2010 Race for Research, a walk/race raising funds and awareness for brain tumor research. Last year I attended with the fabulous crew from my show How Do I Look on Style Network, and it was SO MUCH FUN! As much as I am honored to be involved in raising moola, is it bad that I’m UBER excited about the FOOD TRUCKS that will be involved in the event? Omg…no really. Are you ready for the menu of Food Trucks? We’ve got: No Reservations, Papa’s Tapas, India Jones, Lake Street Creamery, and Del’s Lemonade.

So here’s the fun-down on my weekend again. Hope yall can make it out, or in the very least do click to support. THANK YOU.

Changing lives on screen… and off.

How Do I LOVE?

Every amazing person in this picture above came together thru a show intended to change the lives of others.

Here we are, on a Sunday afternoon, helping to save the lives of so many more.

Today, the family, friends, and team of How Do I Look and Style Network joined together to take the steps (literally) to walk in the 2009 Heroes of Hope Race for Research, brain tumor awareness walk. I was so glad I was wearing my sunglasses because I kept tearing up in disbelief that the people who made it out or supported were my co-workers. I had gotten sick that morning so I  arrived a few minutes after the race officially started, so I parked a bit ahead and began walking towards the racers to meet them head on. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to find our few individuals from our show (not sure how many really ended up coming.) As I walked thru scattered groups of unrecognizable people, I suddenly began seeing clusters of these gorgeous faces in these bright yellow shirts. Yup, as I looked closer, sure of enough the shirts read “How Do I Look” and I squealed over how many made it out! I still can’t believe it.. all people I know through work- behind the scenes of a television show. I don’t take it for granted that I can work long hours of a week with the same people only to look forward seeing them all again on my day off.  So there we were-joining about 500 runners and walkers to raise a total amount of $45,ooo! It was such a fantastic feeling to know that every little bit of effort together brings us towards a beautiful goal.

Our Timmy takes it to the finish line!

I’m so proud to be a part of Style network, who placed us in the top 3 of major donators! Thank you Style Network! Special thanks to the delicious and healthy snacks of Pirate’s Booty and organic ingredients of Famous Cupcakes for teaching people how to live and love food healthy.  And thank you to each and every individual pictured here below that took every second to make it all happen.

My new found fan :) (and a great hugger!)The team that made it happen, and our guest of honor Billy

From Elizabeth and Bill:
Please sign up for Jeannie’s Style Network” team and walk for Brain Cancer Research in honor of my husband Bill’s fight please sign up ASAP if you haven’t already.  I am ordering T-Shirts and want to get an accurate count.  This is our last push to get people to the event to walk/run the 5K or run the 10K to raise much needed funds for research.  It is a great reason to get o ut of bed early on a Sunday morning and we will be so happy to have you with us.  Kids welcome…I guess they have a few fun activities for kids.
THESE EVENTS MATTER! They raise money that help fund clinical trials that will make a difference to Bill and everyone like him.  When he needs a new trial we need to have one for him to go to and with all the budget cuts many are gone.  A big turn out shows the world that people care about brain tumors.  You’d care a lot of you were in our shoes.
