Jena was such a special guest on my show. For such a small package, this beautiful woman packed a powerful punch. I’ll be the first to say there really wasn’t much to change about Jena at all, (I really liked her spunky Steampunk Style), except the perception Jena had on herself. This show reveals such amazing shades to every guest that our 1 hour show can hardly capture, but I think the best “reveal” is the one we can see, and that is when our guest goes home. Mai Big Gay Ice Scream

There’s only one thing I love than big gays. Ice cream. And Doug Quint, owner of this popular NYC  truck, melts the two together in such a perfect way that makes us all scream for ice cream.

If you readers can remember, the last time I took off to NYC, all I could think about was making my way to this truck. As a foodie I love researching what’s been on the tip of everyone’s tastebuds, and the only thing that mattered to me was making it to find this newest sensation. And guess what.. it’s exactly what you’d imagine. Blazin with a fabulous rainbow ice cream cone and packed with delightfully punny and gay goodies such as the Bea Arthur, it was a dream come true when I finally tracked it down. Oh man. Was this episode latex overload. I seriously couldn’t even LOOK at my leggings after shooting this episode. Alondrea (the guest on this week’s show) made me question everything containing spandex I owned. Thanks Alondrea, I own like 15 oversized boho baggy blouses and harem pants now. But all is not lost! Mai Closet: Episode 1105 with Illiana

Ahhh, this episode was a doozy. I can still remember standing there just bewildered at how Illiana, our guest on this week’s episode, tried everything to talk herself out of a makeover. If she walked off the show with even just a shirt that fit over her midriff, I would have been thrilled! However, at the end of the day Illiana had an amazing heart and turned when she saw how her ill-fitted clothing actually made her appear 2-3 sizes bigger than she actually was! She later told me off camera that she never realized the effects of her style could later teach her daughter the same low self-esteem, too. I have to apologize to all mai fellow foodies out there.

As a fashionista, I gotchu. Being up fashion finds; I pride myself on being on it like a bonnet. As a foodie, I’m last season’s kogi taco. Lately Los Angeles has been tearin it up with the food truck trend and I’ve been too holed up in my office at Extra or on set at How Do I Look to experience the endless creative concoctions of banana pudding, sweet potato fries, or Korea pub grub. Look 2 & 3: Hmm..as I’m looking at this picture I’m wondering why my hair is closer to God than even His angels. Whatever…I was uber comfortable after a long day in these booties and cardigan. And fine…leggings..but NOT shiny lycra ones!
