I can’t believe it. I’m back in LA, flew thru Customs (with 6 illegal electric mosquito swatters NOT confiscated), and my fingers twittering with excitement to tell you all about the last 2 weeks. With the sketchy internet..and ok, the fact that I leap outta bed in the AM to head out into the humid air and enjoy the city till wee hours into the night, there was never enough time to blog! So far- my trip to Vietnam has been surreal. The food, the people…I can’t even stand it. Yesterday I spent time meeting the family of amazing people at the Heartbeat Vietnam headquarters, and learned all the stories of children who had been qualified to receive heart surgeries. Besides meeting the outstanding Robin King Austin who brought her vision to life by founding Heartbeat Vietnam, I met the incredible staff of talented people who put all the efforts forth to save these children. The most memorable part of my visit was seeing this wall of beautiful children, all with a sensational smile and a signature scar of life down the center of their chest. Mimi described to me the stories behind each of these children from various provinces around Vietnam, and how-thanks to each donor- these pictures are able to be rotated often to celebrate each heart surgery completed! With that, Robin blessed me with the greatest invite ever..to go TODAY to actually visit a young survivor who just recently received her heart surgery! I can’t even tell you how jittery my fingers are in typing this blog to head out on my way now to the hospital to see Hoa. I don’t know if it was because of her sensational sense of humor or ..let’s be honest, her tig o bitties onscreen. DID YOU SEE this woman’s outfits?? Everyone has been asking me if that outfit she first walked out in was staged and I’m like, How in the heck would you think I could convince a woman with triple threat breasts to arrive… wearing a shirt backwards….as a dress!?

That’s right friends. I’m dying of excitement to finally be taking the first vacation in three stretched years of non-stop working. And well, I even feel bad saying that because I lovemy jobs, so I don’t even feel like I’m overworked, but this is an entirely different trip where I’m going to be working in the way I most love.

Um. Yea. I just found out tomorrow night’s episode of How Do I Look (Style Network 8/7c) is going to be with guest Fun Loving Forest. I say this with a forced smile..cuz she wasn’t feeling “fun”, and I for damn sure wasn’t feelin any love.

This was a really challenging episode for me and I have no idea how it’ll turn out. All I can tell you is that Forest and I disagree on everything, I feared the entire time she’d leave the show, and she’s the first guest ever to make me lose my cool.  Read more...

I jumped out of bed today hoping it wasn’t raining. I have so much to do! Plan for my mission trip to Vietnam, (YES! I’m leaving in 3 weeks! More deets to come!), I have to renew my driver’s license (I’m soooo scared I’m gonna hafta take rewritten test. I’m gonna hafta bust a Sarah Palin, and I have all these things to send out in preparation for Chinese New Year. Oh my gosh, I had the most amazing weekend I have to share with you guys.

If you live here in LA you know that it was raining like crazy for a hot second. Last week for like 5 days straight- . And everyday I was envisioning my beloved lil surviving prayer box up on that hill by itself getting soaked, possibly even blown off the hill. (I have a very dramatic imagination.) Well, I went up there right when the rain stopped for a second to check on the box, and yes it was safe! So I filled it up with fresh paper and new pens. That was 4 days ago.  Read more...
