Oh my gosh, I had the most amazing weekend I have to share with you guys.

If you live here in LA you know that it was raining like crazy for a hot second. Last week for like 5 days straight- . And everyday I was envisioning my beloved lil surviving prayer box up on that hill by itself getting soaked, possibly even blown off the hill. (I have a very dramatic imagination.) Well, I went up there right when the rain stopped for a second to check on the box, and yes it was safe! So I filled it up with fresh paper and new pens. That was 4 days ago.  Read more...

A few nights ago I took out my Pretty Posse-my talented group of hair, makeup, and wardrobe all wrapped into colorful bodies of fun, sparkling energy. These guys take my personal style and help me refresh and invigorate it into different versions of me. There’s so much to pray for today.

First off, let me explain where I take my prayers: My prayer box. It’s sitting at the top of Runyon Canyon here in Los Angeles, and it’s a living miracle itself. In May last year, I hiked up, chained it up there, put one prayer of protection in it, and watched it fill up with fellow hopefilled Runyon hikers I’ve never met. 4 days later, it was gone, never to be seen again, with a mean Facebook message to me that “People shouldn’t be allowed to pray.” Bitter much? Whatevs, I prayed for them! Fast forward to Jan 1st this year, the box returns, on it’s side, all dirty and mangled, with only 2 prayers in it, ONE BEING MINE.  Read more...

I just arrived back from NYC to film this segment-posting here for all who missed. It’s always so much fun teaching women ways to work their wardrobe. My fave part of this was having our special guest Nicole back from this week’s episode of How Do I Look. Not only did she look Un. Be.LiEvAbly hot, but she was just so happy. So different from the woman I first met on our show. (See video to the right on blog homepage) I was elated to see her glow from feeling so gorgeous within. A Facebook Favor to Mai Fans

Hi friends. It’s not always that I’ll ask a favor from you guys. Unless it’s to help another. And in this case it takes your quick click.

It’s one thing for a woman to be suffering in an abusive living situation, but it’s another to be isolated in fear when you feel culturally bound to your circumstances with nobody to reach out to for help. There is a one-of-a-kind shelter here in Los Angeles that provides a safe haven for women/families of abused situations. CPAF (Center for Pacific Asian Family) is the first to open a multi-lingual and multi-cultural transitional housing program. Growing up first generation Asian American, I’ve always recognized the difficulty for the women around me to communicate about any dangerous relationships they were struggling with- let alone dare ask for help. I only wish I had known about places like CPAF back then to encourage those women to speak up.  Read more...
