The magic to Mai look..the Pretty Posse

// January 31st, 2010 // 14 Comments » // Fun, Looking Good

**Updates to this season’s Pretty Posse with fashionistas Kayla McGee and Jocelyn Garrity–stay tuned for bios :)

A few nights ago I took out my Pretty Posse-my talented group of hair, makeup, and wardrobe all wrapped into colorful bodies of fun, sparkling energy. These guys take my personal style and help me refresh and invigorate it into different versions of me. Because I have such exciting opportunities to dress up, I really do love to ask the famous four words to my show, “How Do I Look?” I believe style is a confident perspective of your identity, and celebrating it with the people who love you.

Bashing on Kristen Bell-somebody had to do it.

Bad Fashion..bad!

Here’s the thing–I wrote it strictly because I KNOW Bell could be lookin better. But trust me..we all have our days when we thought “haute”, but really it was out. Ok, but I hate calling out someone else when I ain’t perfect either. So here’s one of my own Shams to even out the score:

Even Jeannie Mai does a "Don't"

I mean, right? Here’s me like 6 years ago on one of my first hosting gigs for a show called Stir on KTSF in the bay. Note my wrinkled satin Bebe top, my clash of accessories, and somebody remind me not to flat iron my own hair. Thanks.

So back to Bell– what do YOU think of my write up for Fashion Police?

Guest Popo Jeannie Mai Says…

Not sure if Kristen Bell was inspired by the sea behind her to bring this coral-reef-like pattern to life, but between the bland color of her 3.1 Phillip Lim frock and washed-out makeup it looks like she’d rather be anywhere else but here at the exciting premiere of her movie Couples Retreat. K.B.: This is one look you should let sail out of your life forever!

This week I sat with Kim to cover the her exciting new involvement with Fusion Beauty’s new lipgloss, a line of lip plumping glosses that obviously work extremely well for the gorgeous girl. My fave part about this lineup is the “Kiss Away Poverty” Campaign, in which $1 from every sale of Infatuation and Lipfusion glosses goes towards Seven Bar Foundation to help end poverty among women!! It was awesome talking with Kim’s passion over makeup with her artist Troy Jensen and sharing her fave beauty secret. So here’s the scoop– try it out! (MAC’s Vanilla Pigment totally gets the job done right, too )  Do get out there  to Sephora and check out the line –Sugar Rush is my personal fave!
